Order of business

An order of business (also known as an agenda or program) is the sequence of events in which items will be taken up during a meeting.  Robert’s Rules lists the following as a standard order of business:

  • Reading and approval of minutes
  • Reports of officers, boards and standing committees
  • Reports of special committees
  • Special orders
  • Unfinished business and general orders
  • New business
