In a world struggling to afford food, ANY increase in dues will discourage girls from joining, however, this proposal seems fair. The national board should NOT be allowed to raise dues without the consent of the membership
This may be outside of scope but someone should amend this to have a dollar amount increase, not a percentage ($15 instead of 15%, for example). Eventually the dues are going to get high enough to warrant this.
Any increase when people are struggling financially would definitely deter joining/renewal, but I do agree that the lowered percentage is a step in the right direction.
Obviously GSUSA needs to increase the dues, so they can increase their salaries… CEO alone makes nearly a million dollars that is off the back and the hard work of our children. They bust their butts to give money and give money and give money to the GSUSA and, for me, GSGLA. It gets harder and harder to see the program I once loved turn into a corporate machine that pats itself on the bac, during the annual meeting and can’t answer any simple questions about why they are continue to get astronomical raises while they fire the local staff that helps the leaders and troops on a day to day basis while asking us to donate and our daughters to sell more products for less exciting rewards. I find it hard to continue to stay peppy and ask the troop families and girls to continue to feed the corporate ladder….
