GSG Survey on Council Submitted NCS Proposals

YOUR voice is IMPORTANT as a part of the MEMBERSHIP of the Movement! GirlScoutGovernance.com is hosting a survey to hear what the membership has to say about potential 2023 National Council Session (NCS) proposals that were submitted to the National Board by councils for consideration of placement on the NCS agenda.

This survey has a list of the proposals. Links to the proposal and rationale are provided before each question so that you can review it before voting. If you wish to leave a comment about why you feel the proposal should be added to the agenda, please feel free to do so.

The National Council, serving as the voice of the membership, fulfills its role by being “the coordinating head of the Girl Scout Movement in the United States” per the GSUSA Constitution and does so by debating and voting on proposals that appear on the NCS agenda. We are asking you to vote on whether you think each proposal should be on the agenda and not whether you personally support the proposal.

Please share this survey with your service units, other volunteers, Girl Scout Seniors or Ambassadors, and staff so that the membership’s voice can be heard. Voting ends August 31, 2022. Results will be posted in early September on GirlScoutGovernance.com and submitted to the Office of the National Board before the National Board meeting in late September.

Please note: If you are using the Facebook app on a mobile device to view this, then your answers most likely will may not be saved when you go back after you have clicked on a proposal link. There are four ways around this issue on a mobile device.
  1. Read all of the proposals in their entirety first (by clicking on the links) and *then* fill out the Google form.
  2. Once you open the Google form from your Facebook app, click on three dots found either in the top right or bottom right and select “Open in browser” and go from there.
  3. Open your browser app instead and go to girlscoutgovernance.com. Scroll down until you see the link for the survey. In other words, don’t use Facebook to access it.
  4. Do the survey from a computer instead of a mobile device.

From a browser (other than the Facebook browser included in their app) on a mobile device, when you click on the link to each proposal, a new window will open with the proposal.  You should be able to go back to the survey tab and find your responses still intact.
